Looking to get something like a Rough Country 2.5 in Leveling Kit. If the ratio on the truck needs to be changed can you guys send me a link to the front and rear gears. I'm assuming I'll need 4.10s. Pretty sure It's a Dana 44 up front but I'm not sure about the rear.

It would be a 9.25 rear end. What size tires are you going to run. And yes. Dana 44 front on 1500.

I thought I saidit but I deleted a few things before I posted it because I was torn between a 16in rim and a 17.

Planning on running 305/70R16s or 17s.

4.10s would be fine with that range. 33ish. If you wanted 35s I'd say 4.56 or if you want to tow with the 33s. I have 285/75r16 on my 97 and I have 3.55 gears. It's a little slow... I'm looking at swapping to 4.10 gears myself.

if your honestly debating between 4.11 gears and 4.56, just go with the 4.56 and be happy!

If you go with a bigger tire, the 4.56 gears will help you the most. If you go with a smaller tire, the 4.56 gears will help you the most.

(see the pattern)

Yes, the 4.56 gears will hurt your mileage on the highway, but your adding a big tire to a known gas hog. My guess is you fully understand this and your willing to sacrifice for the best "driveability"

I have a 98 reg cab, short box. Running the 305 tires you are. I have a bds leving kit. I also have 4.56 gears.

Trust me on this, 4.11 will work, 4.56 will make you happier.

Also, just for reference, you should really really consider adding a limited slip/locker while your in there. You will have it all apart already, now is the time! You will kick yourself if you dont.

I run 4.56s with 285/70/17s and LOVE it :D

4.10s with my size would've been a better all around gear but 4.56s suited my intentions much better. I like the option of being able to add 35s and still be a bit over-geared to reduce strain (4.10s and 35s is basically like 3.55s and your 245s) or stick with 33s and have stupid torque. I like shenanigans and sled pulling. 70mph I'm at about 2200rpm. Just for reference.

It's also almost downright dangerous to drive this thing in the rain now and I LOVE it.
