hey everybody been awhile since ive posted but have been looking into lift kits again for the truck, right now it has a leveling kit and 3" body lift but wanting it to stand a lil taller. A 5" suspension lift will give me about 3" of lift correct since it will cancel out my leveling kit? which brings me to my next question, which brands are you guys using? i found rough country for $750 or zone for $850, both us a lift block and add a leaf for the rear tho. A local place has bds suspension lifts for 15% off so can get one for about $1,150 or for $200 bucks more can get all new leaf springs instead of the block and add a leaf.

would the bds be worth twice the price as the rough country? what would you guys do?

here is a pic of the truck right now:

any advice or opinions on which way to go will be much appreciated

RC kit uses a 4" lift block stacked with the factory 3" block. Zone uses a 5" block that replaces the factory 3" block and uses a 2" AAL.

I wouldn't even consider the RC kit. The BDS kit with new springs is a great price and I would go with it. New 5" lift springs are usually $600-700 by themselves so can't complain.

how hard are these lifts to install? i know the bds is prolly the better deal but that is at the end of my price range where as if i go with the cheaper ones i would be able to pay a shop to put it on. Im down at college so limited with tools and workspace. I could probably find a friend or two to help me with it but at the same time dont wanna spend that kind of money and screw something up lol

also what would you do for track bar, steering stabilizer, and shocks? are the shocks in the bds kit good or is their a better choice for the money?

also if i go with bds what are your thoughts on long arm vs short arm? will be about 2-300 in price difference, worth it?

bds sells there leaf springs just by themselves for $203 so looks like there is no discount for buying at same time as lift kit :/

It comes with the track bar bracket, shocks and steering stabilizer. Long arms will have better handling and more travel. Those leaves are $203 each, still a good price.

You can look at the instructions for the BDS kit to see how involved it is. Not bad, just time consuming and extra hands help. If you want to go with the cheaper Zone kit that's fine too. Its not like your truck going to explode, you'll just have a little stiffer ride with the AAL.

Mr. BBartow has you covered here.

Long-arms and the full leaf packs are the best route.

personally id pick the full springs. just me. you can live with short arms, depending on road quality in the area.

Nice BDS long-arm kit. Get out the jack, jackstands, tools and the drill and get to it.

control arms and removing rear leaf packs will be the hardest part, at least in my parts as they seem to seize up pretty good after a few years..
