Finally got my 2.5" lift in with my new stock height coils and I installed the 3" track bar drop bracket that goes on the axle and now I cant get the track bar in...

It looks like it would fit if I used the stick location for the track bar?

The lift gave me exactly 2" of lift. Looks like I don't need the bracket(after spending 3.5 hrs making it work)?

Slow down. You wl need to use a come along or a tie down strap to get the Trac bar in place. You also have to determine if the frame is centered over the diff right

I also had to turn my wheels to get the track bar in. When you take the track bar out and install the spacers, youre messing with the geometry of the axle-frame system so it may be slightly off.

Finally got it in! Torque the tie rod end looking part with the castle nut to 73 ft lbs and the lower one thay attaches to the axle to 115ft lbs.

My Chilton manual calls for 130 ft lbs but I was scared of snapping the bolt bevause I was using the orginal M14 10.9 class.

You guys thinks I'll be good with the 115 ft lbs? I really really do not want to snap that bolt

I got the track bar in with the drop bracket... the axle should be center under the truck then correct? Lol

Update: measured each side of the tire stick out with a large level and tape measure...

Passenger side stick out: 2"
driver side stick out: 1 5/8"

So they are about 3/8 off from each other so the axle is about 3/16" off center.. pretty damn close I think.

Ofcourse I'm assuming the tires are almost exactly the same width

But im still torqued at 115 ft lbs instead of 130 ft lbs...

Torque it to 130. Better to snap it now then to have the whole shebang fall apart on you on the highway at 75mph.

I was planning on watching it and checking the torque to make sure it's not loosening up on me.. bad idea?

I agree with DD on torquing to 130 ft lbs and then regularly check to make sure the bolt stays torqued, like at every oil change or so.

You guys just want me to snap it :3681700201_eef6d1e2

Lol but seriously, if it snaps I'm in for a world of pain trying to get that bolt out due to its location.

115 really won't hold it in there? It was about all I had for strength to get that 115 lol

And the bolt that hold the shock in at the bottom I believe are the same m14 10.9 class and they are only suppose to be torqued to 100 ft lbs. Why different torque when using same bolt?
