My hood has the clear coat peeling up on it and found a hood on Craig's for a 2000 sport and I have a 1996 sport. The hood I found is in great condition and the same color. I want to make sure the will be compatible before I buy.

Hood is, yes, grille, no. The grilles are different between 98 and 99 Sport models, and being that yours is a 96, you have the older style grille.

Older "sport" grill that is. And when swapping grills if you buy it, I'd swap the whole bracket with it. The 4 side plastic tabs and center tab like to snap off when trying to remove

Thats what i thought just wanted to make sure. Probably going to end up stopping at the JY to pickup a new grill.

Be prepared for it to not match exactly.
18 years of fading vs 14 years of fading, same color code or not, will not match.

Unless there is damage to the sheet metal, I would just have the clear scuffed and re-done.

Went to pickup the hood today. 80 bucks for the hood and grill. The whole removal transfer and install went perfect. Everything bolted up fine nothing broke removing the old one. Just when i thought for once everything would go flawless i go to turn the truck on and wouldnt you know it radio and dome lights were NOT working. I was thinking how the hell could this have happened. First thought, check the fuse box. Somehow the IOD fuse managed to blow. Switched that out and got everything working.

Just when i thought something would go entirely right for once i was wrong :hahano:

That doesn't look bad at all.

Looks quite good actually considering the age difference.
