ok, one guy said the "bolt pattern" is different on them, but if i don't have cab lights at all now, that shouldn't matter as there's no holes now from previous lights to worry about correct?

Daniel is right on. If you don't have cab lights now then you have to fit them on the roof and wire them up. Make sure you seal them good. The 3rd gen lights are a different style of coarse. But the wirine may have changed. But you're making your own wiring so it won't matter.

Yea as long as you don't have lights now. Wire them up yourself. And you're good to go.

pull your passenger side pillar , the wire harness end is in there . Those are the wires for your cab lights . Most rams have this in there from the factory with or without light .

So all you have to do is run wires from the lights to the pillar .

my 2500 - 1000 has the pillar tapped
got the wiring harness from a chevy 3500 workman special out of the pick and pull for free since it was closing and was only 5 feet of wire

Zach the other thing to remember...the 2nd gens have an existing template w/ cut outs for the cab lights under the head liner.

You very well might find yourself fighting the sheet metal.

Best of luck!

Seeing as how other 2nd gens have 3rd gen lights I don't forsee fighting the sheet metal to be much of a problem. Hell I'm only drilling holes in the roof anyway. I will ask my buddy about harness etc for cab lights and see if he knows about it.
