Personally I dislike how large the front bumper on our 2nd gens are as well as how they sag... has anyone made them smaller (shorten them up and down ways)? Or can anyone recommend a different bumper other than the $1000 bumpers you can buy from places like autoeverything.com?

Thanks!

I've thing some do is 4th gen bumper swap. Looks decent depending on how much work you out into it. I can get you a link to the brackets to make the deal if you like.

Something wise I've seen lately is a 3rd gen bumper swap. I've only seen 1 truck with that so idk how that gets accomplished. I'll see if I can find a pic of that

There is a DIY thread on this forum where a Guy installed 3g headlights, sooo I'd imagine the bumper would be similar. :D

Though I think the late 3g (06-9) bumper would be a better fit than the early (02-5) bumper.

My only concern with putting another factory bumper on (even if it is from other years) is that they are still just as big and bulky and they don't really offer any other protection.

Compared to road armor or something allong those lines I thought our bumpers were quite small.

On a stock suspension setup, I thought the bumpers sat pretty low.. maybe I'll through on some 2" lift coils and then go from there

Here is a good shot of the bumper before and after i installed 2.5" spacers. Also imo taking off the bottom plastic valence helps improves the look. And i definitely agree the bumpers sit too low on stock suspension.
