So went to order tires today in a load range c (6 ply) 265/75/16 and all they can get without it taking 2 weeks to 2 months are load range e (10 ply). Those of u running load range e on stock wheels, what paid are u running at? And would range e tires wear more quickly on a 1500 since it doesn't need such a high load tire? Ugh this is stressing me out!!

If you are sticking with the BFG ATKO's, I highly advise AGAINST the Load Range E versions.

There is a different tread pattern, less sipping. It SUCKS in the snow.

If it's basically any OTHER tire, I think Load Range E to be a benefit. I had Load Range E Wrangler AT/S on my Ram they where GREAT tires. Never really seemed to show signs of wearing + Awesome wet / snow traction.

Now i don't hardly ever tow or haul anything. Now if i got the load E's should i still run 35 paid when the tire says Max pressure is 80 psi

The load range I believe relates to the sidewall rating/thinkness of the rubber itself, psi should be about the same. I think I run like 42 or so

yes. or close to it. 45-50psi

I have some 285 E for a short while. ran around 35-40.

my dad has run load e bfg long trail or something. he has had them forever and gotten good mileage. I dont know what he runs them at psi though.

one thing is they will ride a bit stiffer than D range.

Bigger trucks like CTD's run E rated tires and your truck is not that heavy , you can run D and be fine

Like my BFG's are load range E's and I wore threw them really fast but I think it was from the lack of rotation and over inflation (60ish psi). I just was wondering if my truck not being as heave as a 3/4 ton or 1 ton if that would make the tires wear any faster

I don't think it will wear any different. I have the duratracs on my truck. Only reason mine have warn is because I did some stupid things. But I like them.

I have the stock size on mine. 265 75 16

Looking to upgrade this time around to a 285 or a 305. Whichever is a 33

285 is a 33 but with out different wheels you'll rub on the upper control arm, which is why I want to go with stock size til i get aftermarket wheels

Well see that is where all the argument is. Some say it will rub with 33 some say no not till 35 some say need a lift. So I'm just gonna get 33's and see. If I rub I rub. If not cool. Just gotta save up the dough.

The Duratrac in a E would be an awesome tire. I would not run them anywhere near max PSI though... They are rated for X#s and you have like X/4# weight empty.

The magic spot on my buddies FJ is somewhere around 36 PSI.

Thanks slacker. I have heard so many stories about rub no rub. blah blah blah. I just decided to bite the bullet and get them. They rub fine spacers for now. They don't fine new wheels down the road. lol

I run roughly 45 yo 55 in mine all the time year round. Had it up to 65 while hauling and towing. But never to the 85 that is on the tire. My compressor can't even push that much air. lol

My old man has 285/75R16s on his stock '98 Ram. It sings at full lock. Has the whole time he's had em on there. Who cares?

265/75-16
vs
305/70-16
Both tires have a sidewall height of 213.5mm/ approx 33" (70% of 305 is the same as 75% of 285), so the only difference is that the 285 is narrower (285mm instead of 305 mm.)
