Got my new grill installed this morning. Nothing fancy, just a black OEM style grill

I was actually surprised how well the colors matched. It'll stay like this until I get around to painting the whole truck, then it'll be colormatched

That is a pretty good idea. I'll see if I can't swipe a few from a salvage yard and see how it turns out. They're just held on with adhesive of some kind right?

Looks great! I love it when things are color matched.

As for the badge/emblem I used Plasti-dip. Works great if you want a flat black look otherwise I think they make some black chrome stuff. I don't know how well Niteshade would hold up especially being on the front.

Correct me if im wrong but 2nd gen emblems are just a gel coat over the rams head and dont stick out like the 3rd and 4th gens. Niteshade should work good because its a flat surface.

Yup. Gel coated over the lettering and raised ram head. I like the tint idea though.

Yes they are adheared on just like the badges. But no idea how you would get it off though.

There's a guy I work with that just swapped his grill out on his '00 model I'll ask him about it. I'm pretty sure it's just glued down since there's no holes on the new grill for pins and nothing sticking out of the back of the old one.

This was more than just an appearance upgrade. One of the mounting points on my old grill was broken and I ended up breaking two more getting it off

Dealer wants $16 for a new emblem. Not too bad but I'm gonna try the junk yards for a few test emblems before I shell out that cash

You know how thick that stuff is? Hell I guess I could lay a piece of window tint over it just for an idea

Yeah they are really glued on there, broke the back off of mine, so I decided to light it up, still working on it.

I would check ebay before buying from the dealer. I've bought a few from ebay before and saved some money.

I have no idea how thick that film is but seems to be the latest rage.
