As the title says I'm thinking on making a swing out tire mount for my rig. I don't know if I should go from the bumper or make one like the ford bronco uses. Any and all Ideas are welcome.

Start with a heavy duty bumper like a ranch hand.. this will make any mounting 10x easier

Yep +1 to that. I'd for sure start with a better rear bumper then go something like this

You could probly make one like the last link you shared,
that craigslist ad is for a dually and curves around to be even with the dually fender flares:superhack: you could cut it or wait for a better deal, all bumpers will fit if you are determined and patient:)

That one for $400 just seems like thin metal to me. I think would need reinforcement mounts underneath the bumper to support the swing out spare tire. Maybe its thick metal but an old 4x4 ford i used to own had own and it was fairly thin.

Possibly search other cities on cl? find one for a dodge 2nd gen and request them to mail it to you.
