Hey all, my driver side front rotor has some nasty uneven wear probably caused by a variety of things. Anywho, it's getting about time to get some rotors and pads. I can get the BrakeBest stuff from O'Reilly's for a fair price and I've never really heard anything bad about that brand.

However, looking around, EBC makes plenty of stuff for our trucks and I've heard pretty good stuff about them overall. However, their pads and rotors are basically twice the price of the BrakeBest stuff. My question, is EBC stuff really that good? Is it worth the money? They say you get what you pay for but when you're talking a twofold price difference, it certainly warrants research.

Anyone here using EBC brake stuff?

I don't personally use th ebc stuff, but have heard good things.

I personally use duralast pads on all my vehicles, buy them once and lifetime warranty on the just swap them out.

I've used the EBC sports rotors and Greenstuff pads on all my trucks and it's a combo that I don't plan to change anytime soon. I started using them on my '98 Dakota R/T and the best thing about them is they have great wear if you use the 7000 series GS pads on the front and have minimal brake dust but grip extremely in all temperature ranges that they go through. I've towed with them before and while they do get a tad spongy after repeated downhill braking it was comparable to any of my other pads I've used and it could be attributed to heating the brake fluid in the caliper.

I use duralast parts on my brakes, I've replaced just about everything besides the caliper on the passenger side. Never had a complaint.

Every vehicle I have is running EBC brake components. I usually get them from R1-Concepts for a good price.

Thanks for the input, guys. I think I'm gonna lean towards EBC stuff this time around but I've got a decent bit of life on my current stuff, so I'm gonna milk it for a while.

Since we're on the subject, does anyone use anything special for the rear drums? I know the rears carry a relatively small workload compared to the fronts so I'm sure that's why our trucks use a drum setup and pretty much anything healthy will work dandy. I've never actually had the hardware replaced, just cleaned and greased. I do know that my shoes are getting a bit thin so my rear brakes will need some work as well.

Nope, just plain components there. Just be sure to get the spring kits, not all shoes come with them, depending on what it looks like when you get it apart you may also need to replace the auto adjusters, they like to stick and seize up in northern climates.

I am looking at EBC as well, with their slotted rotors and Red Stuffs pads - they recommend the Red Stuff for heavier vehicles like our trucks.. correct?
