I have a set of tow mirror's in my truck, but I've noticed that my convex mirrors are flatter compared to others I've seen. I've been trying to find replacement glass for my mirrors, but all I ever find is for 03-08. They look extremely similar. Does anybody know if it'll fit?

They didn't come out with the tow mirrors until 03 that's why they say 03-08. Did you buy your truck used? If so then they were put on after 03 because the 02's came with the small standard mirrors.

They are aftermarket mirrors. I was under the impression they started having them as an option in 98. But anyway they should be the same then? Minus the mounting flange because of the door shape?

Hmmm, not sure if they were an option or not... always saw them with the small ones, but the 3rd gen fit 2nd gens. To answer your question though, yes - they should fit no problem. I've found that aftermarket stuff like mirrors differs per the manufacturer so it'll differ, but usually only slightly.

3rd gen mirrors will not bolt to 2nd gen doors without modification...
I would find someone with third gen tow mirrors and take measurements before buying replacement glass. If they only offer the third gen replacement glass then they may be the same but I don't like throwing money away.

I'm saying that in response to the other posts. In case someone finds this thread over the Internet and thinks they can mount 3rd gen mirrors on a second gen, they'll know they can't.

What modification has to be done? Bolted right up to an 01

Not a 3rd Gen mirror. The plastic area that mounts to the door is larger. If you look up pictures, you'll see a difference.
