I'm looking into getting off road lights on my truck soon. I'm not sure when but I wanted to get some input to consider.
On my ram I have the bed bars, or "roll bar", whatever they're called. I am planning on adding lights to it, I'm thinking four 6" lights on the bar. Has anyone wired lights on a bar like this before? I'm thinking the simplest way to do this would be to wire them down the bar, through the bed then underneath the truck to the front where I would connect them - but I've never wired lights before. Would this be the easiest way to do this?

I am also looking into adding a light bar to the grill, behind the grill, on the bumper, something of that nature - maybe even doing this instead of the lights on the bar for the time being. I've debated adding some short light bars next to where the flood lights go(if I had them). Where would be the easiest place to mount lights on the front? I'm open to any ideas y'all might have, even other ideas outside just lights. I'm looking to add character to my truck and make it look nice, haven't changed anything up much since I got it.

Thanks everyone in advance.

The way you've described it would be the easiest, but you'll need 8 or 10 gauge wiring supplying juice and at least 2 relays.

just get a light bar. Pretty cheap and easy to wire. you can even get wireless relays.

My original plan was to get a 50" light bar like most people do now but my parents don't want me drilling into the cab so I have to improvise. The truck already had the bars when I got it, might as well utilize it.

Light bars come with weather proof mounting rubber boots. I used those and some silicone on both sides of the rubber and ive had it for a year now, 0 leaks.

If the water leaking is what you're worried about, pm me and i can help you explain it to them and ill show you how to wire it also

throw a 50in on the roll bar i mean. simple install and just run wiring for it under your cab into the engine bay

Nice addition! How do you like the light, especially at night?

I love it. I'm still surprised how bright it is for only a 32" light. For anyone wondering it's a cheaper one off amazon

Did you redo the seal? I have a buddy who went thru one, got it replaced and resealed it with some silicone. Still bone dry inside after 1.5 years...

I did reseal it, there was hardly any seal on it when I took it apart to redo it. No wonder water gets in so many of these cheaper light bars

I get a kick out of the people cry foul when they don't seal them. A little research goes a long way.

If you simply read the reviews on the light bars everyone says if you don't seal it they'll leak..people just expect top quality for a cheap price I guess
