I think it'd be simple (ish). Grab a 3rd gen 9.25 and swap your leaf spring perches to it, everything else should bolt right up. Speed sensor may need modification.

You will have to find a conversion kit on the web to do this. Maybe Rowdyram know of something else.

;) not cheap eh, one other option is to find a 80 with factory disc brakes but finding one with 4.10 is not going to be easy at all.

I don't know of any specific setups but I would just go to the wrecking yard and buy the backing plates and lines off a 3gen then buy new calipers pads and rotors.
You will also need to deal with your residual pressure valve in your master

Oh didn't see that yours is 3/4.
The ford Dana 60 should have the same flange pattern. That may broaden your search just make sure its for a pre 99 ford or else it will be a different bolt pattern

You should be able to use post 99 backing plates and calipers from a ford and just buy pre 99 rotors.
Edit
I just looked and Dana 70 disk from a 2gen is the same mounting as a 60. Wrecking yard a dodge disk setup and get the master off that truck as well

Thanks Rowdyram, I have the big master already from when I did the 60 swap. I am very happy with the rear drum's, if I run across these parts I might do the upgrade.

You need a master that doesn't have a residual pressure valve

Oh I see. Nice. I think ditching the 9.25 is the best thing you can do to a 2 gen.

Yes so do I.

Not to thread jack but you had mentioned about using the 9.25 clutch packs in the 60 rear can you explain more via pm or here. I want to do a Dl again but the bucks are not ready yet, but I have a set of 9.25 clutch packs here just begging to be used if possible.

Other way round. 60 parts in a 9.25 or Ford 9.75 parts in a 60. The ford racing frictions is what I used

Thank you Sir I will look into this, but the wife says just wait and get the Dl in a month so I might just hold off.

Your op on 38.7 Michelin XML Militery tires (yes DOT tire) @ 120 lbs each and 5.36 ratio? Thats the ratio I am looking at going with.

Edit: All severe mountain driving and max speed of 65mph no more towing with this truck.

Disc Brake Kit Rear - 1 (Single) Piston with 11.25in Rotor

This is a disc conversion that is a little under $700 after shipping. I am installing this kit on my 2011 as we speak to allow me to run a 15" wheel out back.

Op and myself have a Dana 60 rear and that kit is over $1,600 to rich for my blood, but a very nice kit. I did not see a listing for a single piston caliper kit so had to go two piston kit.

Disc Brake Kit Rear - 2 Piston Super Twin with 12in Rotor

Thanks for the info Moe's Performance
