So in the next month or so I'm gettin new tires, I had 285/75/16 BFG All Terrain KO's and they wore out in 23,*** miles so I think I'm gonna give the the Goodyear Duratracs a shot. Now I want to keep the 33's but they just come in Load Range E. The BFG's were too and they made for a ****** ride but I'm wondering if the tire pressure would have ran them out that quickly or a tire with that many plys on a 1500 had something to do with it?!? Im running 45 psi and max was 80. Recommended tire pressure is 35 psi but if i run them at that wouldn't it wear them out even faster? Please ring in if you can help

I run an E load tire and have the psi at 35. They have 26k miles on them and are just now showing some wear but have plenty of life still in them. They are AT tires, but thought I'd post up in case it could help.

right on, I don't see why mine wore out so quickly but I wasn't happy with wasting a grand down the drain. I think I'm gonna get the 33s again and just keep em low like you do. I'll be putting new springs up front anyways so hopefully that'll help the ride.

yeah, it's definitely sucks when stuff wears out quick that you spent alot of money on. Glad I posted up. Hope running the lower psi helps you out.

i had load E mud terrain tires on my last truck. I ran whatever tire pressure was needed to have an even contact patch on the road. I rotated them at every oil change. When i sold the truck the tires had over 21,000 miles on them and were about 1/2 tread left. I would say that lack of rotation and tire pressure was your issue.

Thanks for the advice guys, i figured it being such a max pressure tire if i kept the pressure high it would help the tires last but that was an epic fail. Ill keep my new ones low and rotated when i pick em up!

higher pressure will help slightly with gpm but wear the middle of the tires faster. Having the air too low will wear the outsides of the tires more than the middle.
