I had 265 75 16 when I first got the truck. They would rub about 80-90% of the steering input. I've got 255 75 16 now and no problemo.

I'm thinking 285's would rub at or less than 75% of steering input. My sister used to drive a Monte Carlo with wider than stock tires that would rub at about that point and that car was a real PITA to turn into a parking spot.

I have no idea how much effect that a lift would have.

I was running 265/75/16s zero rub and nowhere close to rubbing. With the new wheels with a -12mm offset and less backspace I'm currently running 285/70/17 and without the wheel well liners (mud bog incident) im fairly confident i could've stuffed 315s if i wanted, with very little to zero rub. I have since leveled though and i could definitely run 35s

My brother in law had 315/75/16 BFG AT on his 01 4x4 Cummins, it only rubbed in really bad areas where he was turning while articulating pretty good. Still that truck went all over AZ in some really tight spots and it never rubbed enough to worry. He did have wheels that pushed the tires a little further out than the stock location.

Both my truck and my moms truck are of stock wheels.

As for rubbing at full lock, check and see if your stops are still there.
