Default Will tire fit on wheel?
I'm going to be getting a 98 1500 3.9L 2WD that currently has LT225/75R16's. One front tire is pretty bad (needs an alignment), and i didn't want to drop $500 right away for new tires / alignment before i get a chance to really check out and replace any other suspension components, and possibly have to do another alignment.

A buddy of mine has two almost new 235/70R16's that i can use in the rear, move the rears to the front, and that will give me timeto replace any bad suspension parts.

Does anybody know if these will fit the standard rims? The calculators online say the difference between the tires is very small, resulting in almost no difference on the speedo.

Thanks all.

10mm wider and same height. You won't even notice a difference

Alright, awesome. Just wanted to make sure they would fit on the rim before i picked up the tires.

Thanks a lot!

Yup...no problems with running those sizes at all.

The 225's are just 3/10th of an inch taller & 4/10th of an inch narrower than the 235's. Speedo error is less than 1%.

If I may suggest... if you have a good local Firestone (or other alignment capable shop) and they offer a lifetime alignment and you plan on doing some suspension work i'd spend the money on it.
At Firestone they have a $90 1-time alignment or a lifetime $220 alignment. I have taken it in 4 times now--so it has def been worth the money. (In steps I installed new upper/lower ball joints, lowered the front end w/ springs, replaced steering block, idler arm and pittman arm and new tie rods.)

That's a great idea. I'll check with my local shops to see if they offer anything like that. Thanks!!
