My AC blows out at 42 to 48 degrees.
Should the temperature be in the 30s at max?

this should list what you're looking for. Ambient temp and airflow past the AC condenser is important.

Doesn't matter what year you have. A good rule of thumb is a 20-30deg temp difference across the evaporator is what you should have. Example, 80 deg inlet air should give you between 50 and 60 output air.

I have a new compressor and a new evaporator the outside temperature was in the 55. My output air was fluctuating 40 to 48 on the maximum setting.
