I'm looking to do something with the seats in my truck. Have a '99 2500 ext cab. Of course it has the rainbow interior and the foam in the driver's seat has just collapsed. I had thought about getting another cushion for that seat and just having an upholstery shop recover the seats with a better looking fabric. However, another thought I had was to buy a new aftermarket seat and then have a shop recover the back seat (ext cab) to match. Some of the aftermarket seats are really nice. Anyone know of any good places to buy aftermarket seats for our trucks?

aftermarket seats are expensive, I don't know of a place that sells them, you can however get a used seat bottom from the salvage yard for about $20 it is 4 10mm bolts to remove and reinstall it, also a passenger side cushion will work as well if you want to upgrade to leather interior but cant find a decent drive side one.

If you have leather seats with power, the passenger seat bottoms will not directly bolt up. You'll need some rigging to get it to work.

The other issues with these seats is that they are terribly uncomfortable. I can honestly say that the seats in this '99 2500 are the most uncomfortable seats of any vehicles I've ever owned. I love the truck, body style, Cummins, etc, but these seats are awful.

I find them pretty comfortable myself. Hug me better than any car I've ever sat in and about as well as Dad's 05 chevy though the fabric isn't as nice.

I have seen where SRT-4 seats are popular but they're not plug and play. Have to do a little custom stuff with em.

Seat swap is the easy part. It's the seat belt that's giving me grief. Lucky I find the ugly torn stocker comfortable.
I have some nice 99 Durango R/T heated/power leather buckets I want to use but the darn seat belt issue.
