When you drill into that drill a small pilot hole around a 1/4 inch deep then drill with the final size. Otherwise the bigger bit is going to walk everywhere and destroy that expensive shifter.

Nice idea. I like the acrylic. I turn pen blanks all the time and it would be a snap. Does anyone have a source for1 to 2 inch wide by 3to 4inch color blanks. My suppliers only have pen sized stuff. I would like to match the transfer shift also. Does this knob turn off??? Great imagination with the antler... gets you thinking.

found some acrylic (and other) blanks at pennstateinc. Some nice options but the size may need to be experimented on.
