Alright well I've basically got my dash back in. Only one ground to put in and its done. Almost....
You see last time I pulled the dash, neither me nor my dad could get the dash cap bolts in. They line up perfectly. They are long enough. It's the correct bolts. But for some reason we could never get them to even start. Now if you don't know what I'm talking about, I'm referring to the four bolts at on the cap (top) of the dash, all the way in the back, near the windshield. They go through the dash cap and into basically the firewall. Pictures attached. Those bolts are in place but of course not started
Alright well after getting the dash in, I've come across the same exact problem. If someone has come across this before or knows anything, please help me !!!
(Dont be a ******* and say "did you make sure the holes line up?" -_-)

lol Clean it and see if it behaves.

Just curious, what is the temperature of the dash when you're trying to install it? It might be slightly warped from heat.

Well considering its 72° outside, its under ground, and the cap is approximately one year old I don't think that's the cause.

Only thing I can think of is either warping or the dash board/instrument panel assembly needs to be pushed just a little bit further. (that's what she said)

if you don't want it to crack id pull the dash cap then put the screws in the dash frame to the firewall then put the cover back on....put some felt on the bolt heads tho so no squeak. that's what I did and still no crack lol

Well I'll clarify when I say dash cap, I don't mean a cover. I bought the actual top of the dash from the dealer. Which is the hardest thing in the world to install with the dash in the truck because all the screws go from the front of the truck to the back. And I'm not worried about it cracking because like I said it's new, it hasn't baked in the sun long.

It's commonly overlooked in low light.

You should see these florescent work lights we have. They're nicknamed "the sun". Anytime I take pictures I have to turn them off because they make everything look white lol. Not exactly low light

Yeah I'll get a friend to push it forward while I try to get the bolts in but I doubt it will help. We tried the same last time.
