I was working on my truck today, trying to figure out why my dash lights won't turn on. I pulled a fuse because the park light fuse was only a 10, and it it was supposed to be a 15. Immediately after I put the new one in, I turned the dash light on (they didn't come on) and I heard a popping noice. Within seconds of the pop I started to see smoke coming from the dash next to my stereo. Does anyone know what could have caused this, and how I can fix it?

Sounds like you've got a short somewhere in that area. If you're working on the truck in your profile info (1997) I'd start looking in the area of the radio, especially if it's an aftermarket radio.
