Hey guys I have a 96 ram 1500 5.9 8" lift, my fuel gauge stopped working a while ago and is just buried on E 90% of the time. The reason I say 90% and not 100 is because when I fill the tank full the gauge will go back up to full, but after I burn like 1/4 of a tank it will drop back to E. any advice would be appreciated.

Mine is doing the same i picked up a used fuel pump for $40 yesterday off craigslist and am going to put it in Monday i think, the pump itself works fine but the sending unit is whats gotta be the problem but dodge made that all one unit so instead of dropping the tank i'm gonna pull all the bolt and tilt the front of the bed up and put a piece of wood to hold it up while i switch it out then see what happens, ill let you know

It's actually very easy to install a new fuel-pump incorrectly on these, and jam the float. The shop did it to mine the first time, then I did it myself, and jammed it. So it is easy to do. But yeah, like others said, for the price of a ****** Airtex, or crap, from Autozone, you can get a good Delphi, or AC from Amazon.
