Seatbelt light wont go off

I have owned my 2001 Ram 1500 for about 2 months and for awhile the seat belt light would go off and on even while buckled. Now, the light stays on all the time, buckled or not. Does anybody know of a fix for it?

slide the seat forward, cut the two wires for the seatbelt, strip the insulation, but a butt connector on them. slide seat back.

I used a blue spade connector and slid it over the 2 prongs in the plug to bypass without cutting the wires. It was a quick and was fix.
