I have a 2000 ram sport 1500. The dome light area does not have the compass and temp display. Can I upgrade to one?

Not sure on the second gens. I know on the 3g you normally can, it will depend on if the wires are there or not.

You will most likely need the sensor and stuff. I am not sure if the wiring is in the roof or not, but I believe there is a plug under the hood that you would plug the wiring from the sensor in.

It takes quite a bit of work to install an EVIC. You'll need the correct sensors, and if you are using one with the MPG, service interval computer, etc, you'll need to access the PCM.

What I'm doing is installing a Gentex mirror w/ temp, compass, map lights, and is monochromatic.

The mirror seems like a better idea and easier IMO
