Have an 01 Ram 1500. Bought it from a friend. He was driving it down the road, heard a clank and it died. Got it to my house. Tried to start it...one click then nothing. Replaced the starter. Still one click then nothing. Lights and everything works. Any suggestions?

Are there obvious signs, rod through the side of the block, something wedged or jammed in pulley's. Did you check that the battery is good?

Yeah, it's hard to tell, you can take your belt off and put a socket and breaker bar on the crank pulley and see if it spins.

Single click points to electrical. Locked up engine is more likely to grind/bind a bit.
Verify battery is good swap the ASD relay and see if that allows it to crank and go from there
