Have a bad 02 sensor, but my mechanic told me it SHOULD pass emissions as its bad but still reads 0.

Figured I mide as well replace it to be on the safe side so Im wondering if its a bad idea or not to purchase a used one, if not does it need to be specific or will any 2nd gen 02 sensor work?

Thanks in advance.

Used 02 NO! They are cheap to buy new. As for interchanging between years and models you would have to check the parts numbers for both year parts.

^What he said.

Just buy a new one. They're like $25-35, it won't kill you. lol Costs less than a tank of gas.

Never realized they were so cheap to buy, I remember being quoted a few years back $300 and change to have it replaced.

However, Since going for an emissions test today, it turns out the it is not the 02 sensor causing my problem.

I am getting a P0720 code telling me my speed sensor is an issue,

I have read alot about this problem not being solved by buying new sensors so I am shot for what to do.
