The OP has a 2000 5.2, so serious tuner performance is not going to be there. Look into a set of gears.

I'm with George. Tuning for the 2nd gen gassers isn't good for much. Gears would give you the best bang for the buck unless you had a hookup at a speed shop and wanted to do some serious engine work

On my iPhone didn't see any vehicle info...

And I completely agree with gears!

Headers and one of those Jet Stage One Chips that piggyback onto the PCM. had one on my 89 5.0 and it was awesome but then again I had a distributor and also bumped the timing up.
Agree with Gears but would 1K do it (2wd I Guess so).

Would throttle body spacers do anything or is there any fuel mods like high flow throttle body injectors or some **** like that

Throttle body spacers do nothing for our 2nd gens. There is no air fuel mixture done in the intake. All that is done in the cylinder. So those are just big expensive paperweights. And from what I understand those Jet chips are almost a joke. All they do is fool some sensors no real performance there. Depending on what you are wanting to do would depend on where to go. If you want go fast mods then look into an intake and some RR's

If you just want some more function then I agree with some gears and a plenum fix. Plenum is a very common problem and if addressed correctly can add some more power. But the basics is a tuner, CAI (cold air intake), and maybe gears. There's lots of options just depends on what directions you would like to go with the truck.

Welcome to the Forum too!

GEARS will get the heavy truck moving, intake will get it breathing better, headers will open the exhaust up, new exhaust will smooth the airflow and not hamper it.

JET CHIPS ARE THE BIGGEST RIPOFF.
TB SPACERS DO NOTHING BESIDES MAKE NOISE

On the V6 and V8 Magnum engines, there is a steel plenum plate on the bottom side of the intake. As we all know, steel and aluminum expand and contract at different speeds and eventually causes the plenum gasket to fail. There's two ways to fix it.
Just replace the gasket and wait for it to fail again or get with a company like Hughes Performance and order their plenum kit. It'll come with new gaskets and hardware and a new aluminum plenum plate, that way you'll never have to worry about it failing again.

I have a DIY on shaving the kegger here in the DIY section.
RR is roller rockers.
Also could get bigger throttle body, I think around a 52mm, stock is 48mm if I am not mistaken.
I agree with what Kyle said above too

You can still do gears being a 4x4 just gonna cost a few. You will be close to the $1k mark.
