46RE shifting prob

I recently swapped a 318 for a 360 in my 96 1500 4x4. I swapped torque converter, also. Now for some reason I have no 1st gear or overdrive. I have to manually shift from 2nd to drive gear. The converter doesn't lockup either. Does anyone have any suggestions?

this happened to me 2 weeks ago i had no 1st gear and it took some time to pick up speed. i changed the trans fuse, AC clutch fuse, and the transmission relay. shifts like a dream i kid you not. they are all in the fuse box in the engine bay

I was going to suggest the trans relay too...

try the fuses first. fuses are cheap the relay was $25. I put in the relay first and I don't recalling that working til i put in the fuses
