do the 2nd and 3rd gen dodges have the same rear axle other than the drum/rotor difference???? would ring and pinion interchange in them????

Well I guess it doesn't really matter
Your year 1500 has an 8.25" rear I think, in 00 or 01 they started using a 9.25
2nd gen HD had Dana rear axles and 3rd Gens started using a Chrysler rear axle
