Well my cats are clogged how do I know? engine is overheatinng and there is almost no exaust pressure at the tips. In Michigan, it is illegat to run straight pipes, but they never check for it, I was thinking of pulling the cat, hammering the **** out and hammering a pipe through it. problem... cat is 2 in one out. So thats not going to work. I don't want the cat anyways, any suggestions?

Cut it open and hallow it out. Weld it back shut. Make sure the welds are facing up towards the truck so no one can see it

I tried hammering the inside of one out off a 99 Durango. It proved impossible.

Or you can try the waterhose trick, seen it happen on a 98 RAM. Beat on the cat till you get some flow while idling, rev the truck up till they're good and hot then jam a water hose up there full blast. You should here the popping and cracking....... Then crank the truck back up and blow them out, this may take a few tries but it worked for us......

Not so sure I want to jame a hose up my tail pipe any further than the glasspack, already cracked the glasspack

^^^this

with the 02 sensors I believe they are before and after the cat. Opening the cat will mess with them.

The downstream sensors are for monitoring converter efficiency, so be prepared to deal with the MIL by using anti-foulers in the downstream sensors should you decide to hollow out the cats.

If you don't fool the PCM into thinking the converter is still there and operating normally, it will turn on the MIL and set a converter code.
