Greetings everyone,

I have a 97 2500 cummins that has the motor pulled at the moment getting a complete reseal kit done... My mechanic today said that he read about a "governor plate" that when switched out from the stock plate would increase HP by 50-100? Anyone heard/seen anything about this?

A quick search yielded this thing:
BD-Power P7100 Fuel Stop Plate

but, I'm not sure that is what he is talking about? I'm a proud new 2nd gen dodge owner, but I just dont have all the savvy yet and need to rely on you fine folks for guidance!

Any comments/suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Josh

So after some more research, I found these:

STAINLESS #10 FUEL PLATE 1994-1998 Dodge P7100 PUMP KIT FITS CUMMINS 5.9L 12V | eBay

AND

STAINLESS #10 FUEL PLATE 1994-1998 Dodge P7100 PUMP KIT FITS CUMMINS 5.9L 12V | eBay

Looks like they're all the same thing. I've done a search on the forums, for fuel plate, fuel stop, governor plate, but nothing comes up.... Can anyone provide some info on these things? Good or bad idea? One of these is $50 and the other is $237... Why the disparity?

THANK YOU for any comments, help!

Do not waste your money on buying a fuel plate. Cut your own. Unless you have an upgraded auto or clutch do not touch the plate. You will eat the stock trans or clutch up very quickly.
