??
Hey was wondering if anyone could help me out. A friend asked me to take a look at his 95 ram 1500 for him. He told me that he changed the oil pump, pan gasket, and put new oil in it. Now it will only run for about 10 mins and won't start up for another 10 to 20 mins. Anyone got any ideas where to start. He also says it smells like gas after it dies.

ok. I just talk to the guy that owns the truck and he said that when he was driving he had a drop in oil pressure just before it died. This was before he replace the oil pump and stuff. within the last 3 months it has had a tune up with the wires plugs and such and a new tranny.

Is the fuel smell coming from the exhaust or under the hood?
When it does start, how does it run?

Did he by chance check the oil pressure with a mechanical test gauge to verify it?

Any fuel leak around the fuel rail? Injectors such?

Is there any error codes?
