I've been sitting on a replacement muffler for a while to replace my flowmaster 3" in 2.5" out dual muffler. Currently the tube from the cat is 2.5" to the flowmaster. Should I replace the 2.5" pipe with 3" from the cat to the muffler or leave it 2.5"? Would there be any benefit to increasing that pipe size?

What if you increased the pipe width throughout the exhaust system, would there be any benefit there either?

Only "benefit" to increasing pipe size would only be after the muffler, and that would be to mellow out the exhaust note. And even that is debatable.
