Easy way?

That requires welder, screwdriver and a sawzall. Cut off. Cut open. Gut. Reseal. Weld back in place. Or just get rid of the thing if you don't have inspections :p

Drill 2 1/2 holes use a screwdriver and a hammer to break up the kitty blow it out the pipe. Weld the two holes back up and call it good. Make sure the muffler is removed before blowing out the chunks...

I gutted the cat on my '00 Ram. This was a total pain in the... Well you know.

I removed the exhaust from about 3" behind the cat and beat it all out with a 24" 1/2 extension. We also used a long boring bit and a ton of other things to break up the kitty.

It's not a quick easy process. But it is do-able.
