high idle

the engine idles high and it revs itself for a while after startup. it hits about 1600 and drops down to 1200. normally it idles at around 6-700rpm. last time i got this to stop by cleaning the intake manifold while it was running. any idea what it is or how to fix it? after it is warmed up it stops

could it be the IAC?

You could try taking it out and clean it to see if it will help.

if its not the iac what else may be the culprit to check?

cleaned the iac and map and now shes idling and running beautifully again. now just the tranny left...

There ya go, a dirty IAC will cause it ti idle high. Idle should be about 650 rpm

For trans, I recommend replacing with a megaviper if ya have the cash LOL. Expensive, but so worth it.

Im keeping it stock for now. Its a daily driver. Id love to get a manual in it. But my girlfriend drives it. When the tranny takes a crap I might swap it for a manual. Only issue I see is adding the clutch and pedal since I don't own a lift and really don't know anything about swapping transmissions
