I have a 1994 Ram 1500 4wd with a 5.9 L. I recently replaced the IAC with a new one and the TPS with an old one that still works. I've also replaced the TB gasket (twice cause part of the replacement cracked.) and cleaned the throttle body thoroughly. I've checked for vacuum leaks with carb cleaner but still have a high idle. I can still hear a another vacuum leak but unable pinpoint it. It smoothed out after replacing the IAC. It should be running between 500-800 at idle in part unless I am mistaken. However it starts at 1300 and climbs to 1500. Any ideas? thanks.

I will have to try that. I'm sure it hasn't been replaced yet thank you. Also with the new IAC I bought the instructions stated there was a type 1 and type 2 IAC, type 1 was with a collar and was compressed, type 2 was with out the collar and was extended. That was the only difference between the two. The one I bought was a type 1 and the I replaced was a type 2. Has anyone come across this issue before and if so did it make a difference between the two styles?
