My muffler is toast...

So, I get to work yesterday and my exhaust sounded weird. Didn't have time to take a look, so I waited till I got home. When I did, my exhaust sounded like crap. It sounded like the muffler had a big hole in it. I crawl underneath and see...the entire outlet end of the muffler perfectly sheered right off!

What the flying hell? That muffler isn't even a year old! It looked a bit rusty around where it decapitated itself, but nothing that bad. My dad thinks the muffler blew up because of my truck's running issues and honestly, I can't really think of anything better. I've never seen a muffler fall apart in less than a year...

No, I still haven't installed my fuel pump yet. Ran into some legal BS with the Mountaineer and can't even drive it until the previous owner sends a new title (they signed it in the wrong place or some 'effing crap...).

Do you have the sales receipt?

I know, the local exhaust guy here sells low to high end stuff and even his lowest aluminized $199 cat back special (That's even in Canadian Dollars) has a 3 year warranty.

Nah, it's a Turbo Thrush. Cost twice as much as the glasspacks he was offering.

I might try looking for a receipt, but unless I stuck it in my owner's manual, there is no way in hell I would still have it, LOL.

I just Googled Thrush. They have a 90 day warranty

I bet if you've got running problems you had a detonation (back fire) that blew the end off.

This is what happened to my old truck after having issues with running rich went to start it up and instant explosion as soon as that first spark traveled down the exhaust. Was super loud (louder than a mortar firework) and scared the crap out of me i thought i was car bombed and dead. Went from respectably quiet to annoyingly straight piped and loud.
