Needing help

Wondering what goes into the intake in the open threaded port in this picture to the right of the distributor. I haven't the slightest clue and can't find anything in the horrible Haynes book. Help would be greatly appreciated. I would love to have my truck back.

The threaded port is for the egr pipe that goes from the intake manifold to exhaust manifold. On top of it with the two bolts is the block off plate where the valve and transducer would be. You have a 1996 model which doesn't have egr, but Chrysler reused the old intake manifolds and blocked off where the egr would be. Next year got the new intake manifold. You're fine.

Thanks that's what I though it was but I wasn't the only one working on the tear down and wasn't sure.
