getting ready to pick up a '95 ext cab long bed 2500 this week. 190k on the clock, got it relatively cheap as a work truck. Aside from the below, what should i look at doing to it tune-up wise?

Spark Plugs
Air Filter (K&N OEM replacement)
Oil Filter/Oil Change
Brake fluid Change/bleed
Seafoam treatment for intake/fuel/oil

On this note, what oil should I use for a 190k change? 10W40 or something thinner?

Thanks!

I'd personally stick with 10W30. Be sure you do the tune up stuff after the SeaFoam treatment. You can foul out plugs with it (pretty rare though)

Remember to use basical copper core plugs. Nothing fancy.

Use what ever oil is recommended. No reason to change the viscosity just because theres alot of miles on it

I can't seem to find anything about commonly worn parts that happen around the 200k milestone. I won't be putting hard work or log a lot of miles on this thing, but after i do the tune-up and tranny fluid change, etc, is there something i should potentially concern myself for in the future?

She pulls pretty strong, idle is slightly loppy but I can probably fix that with the new plugs and filter and everything.

I'd do the EGR valve. Also, give the front suspension bushings a good look. With that many miles, even if they've been done once, it may need to be done again.

As for the K&N I'm not a big fan of them because most people don't maintain them properly and end up doing more harm than good.

Compare K&N (Yes I know these are Cummins pics but the point is still the same)

As for brake bleeding if you going that far make sure you dis-assemble the front callipers and clean and check the parts for binding which does occur also take the wheel cylinders apart and clean and check for pitting.

Seafoam might be good for the fuel but after doing the study work on the oil I would be a bit worried to do that. Seafoam is based on Rubbing Alcohol and Naptha which would be bad thing for engine oil.

As for Engine oil I run 10w-30 for MPG reasons and doing excellent at 16-17 MPG on a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 (5.9L V8).

You don't add it to the oil to stay in there, you add it to break up the deposits. Then change your oil. I've had it help clear up a lifter tick.
