I have hit my limit as to what to do. It's a 2001 Ram 1500. The engine does not click, it doesn't turn over, it doesn't respond to anything. I've replaced the battery, the starter and solenoid, the ignition switch, the transmission safety switch, the ignition fuse (in the fuse block by the battery). I've also checked for ground...

Don't know what else to do...any ideas?

Key in does the dash light up? Ignition relay or starter relay? If no click relay is bad or not getting power. Probably didn't need to swap the starter. Check fuses to make sure all fuses and I mean all are still good. If the key doesn't get power to the computer or starter relay nothing will happen

Dash lights up. Installed new starter relay. Will check the fuses again! Thanks...

Next suggestion since the computer is getting power I would check and see if the relay is getting power. No click usually means no power. If all fuses are good you may need to trace the wires that control the starter relay

Or possibly even try jumping the relay out temporarily to see if the starter will turn. I don't see why it wouldn't

Check these two fuses to make sure they are not blown and have a good connection. If the fuses are good, then pull the starter relay with the key on and jump pins 30 and 87 on the fuse block, if it cranks then you are looking at a problem between the fuse block, ignition and starter relay control side. If it doesn't crank, check for voltage on pin 30 of the starter relay, if it has power then you're looking at a problem between the starter relay output and the starter solenoid. If there is no power on pin 30, you have a problem between the fuse and starter relay.

If the truck cranks when you jump the pins on the relay, check for voltage on pin 86 when cranking. If no voltage, you have a problem between the starter relay and ignition switch (its possible the switch is bad) If you get voltage, check for continuity to ground on pin 85, if there is none, chock the wheels and check for continuity while someone slowly moves the shift lever from park to drive and back. If you do not get continuity during the procedure, you're looking at a problem with the neutral safety switch or its ground.

If the fuel pump doesn't prime when turning the key to on, swap the ASD relay and Fuel Pump relay and see if it cranks then. If it does swap em back and replace the ASD

ASD shouldn't keep it from cranking, just from doing most anything else.

Kills power to both the pump and starter

Damnit Chrysler, get your **** together, the service manual makes no reference to the ASD relay in the starting section of the wiring diagrams.

Hi Everyone! I was out of town for a couple of days and unable to respond; but now back to the grind. I'm in the process of checking out all the suggestions. Traced the solenoid wire from fuse block to starter - it's ok. Bypassed starter relay, turned key on and touched solenoid wire to battery lead - it started and ran. Since I've already put in a new safety switch on the transmission, I'm convinced the problem is in the fuse block, as most of you are suggesting; will be testing it out today. Thanks, all of you, for your assistance! Couldn't have arrived to this point without your insight.

Just tested the starter relay. With the ignition "on'" I jumped between pins #30 and #87; it started. Voltage between pins #30 and #85 while running was nil. I already placed a new ignition switch, so it can't be that. My guess is that there's a problem inside the fuse block.

I was wondering if I could simply install a push button starter and ignore the lack of communication between pins #30 and #85.

Only reason I would question if it wasn't the ignition switch was because it's sending power for the computer. You can always check the pins on the switch

Ok...here's the latest. I didn't buy this truck new; it was used. I did further investigating and discovered an aftermarket security system that had been installed. I never knew it (didn't have the controller or anything). Bypassing the security, it started up right away. Feel a little dumb right now, because I could've saved a lot of money and tie chasing after ghosts! Regardless, it now has a lot of new parts and fuses, (with replacements), and I learned a lot in the process. Thanks again everyone who helped out! Until next time ...
