Okay so turns out I have a small real main seal leak... I can get it repaired brand new for $400 but I really don't wanna do that. First I guess I wanna see how long it lasts before it gets low on oil again. One week down, nothings changed.

Main question here is I assumed it would be smart to try an oil leak first before I dropped almost half a grand on it. So I bought some CD2 Stop leak. Reading mixed reviews on stop leaks. Some people saying it can cause more damage than is there in the first place.

Anyone have any thoughts on these products? Would you try it or no?

I wouldn't run any "stop leak" products in any of my vehicles. The only way to truly fix any leak is to replace the worn out seal.

Also, I believe you're referring to the rear main seal.
