How strong are these components? How much power can A. The Block handle
and B. How much can the crank, rods, pistons handle.

And C. What if any weak links are there?

Thanks guys!

Most of the weak links in these motors lie in the top end. As long as you stay away from forced induction or nitrous, the internals should handle whatever you decide to throw at it.

Also depends on how many miles are on that engine. Are we talking new, rebuilt, 100k....
My 2000 dodge dakota 5.9 was stock, newish though, and it took alot of boltons with no problems. Nitrous 100 shot with many other boltons. I've heard the accepted norm is 100 hp over stock.

My bad....talking about 5.9 Magnum

Yes..I plan on staying NA....and nothing crazy...about how high can these motors rev, without reliability issues...is 6000 a good area? I know the top end needs to be revised but Im just curious how much abuse these motors can take NA..before having to buy upgraded internals.

What about doing a fresh rebuild...replacing with OEM versus aftermarket....thats alsi something Im curious about....Id like to be realostic and just do simple mods...basically Intake/Cam/Heads.....mild, healthy build

With 150k, its ticking time bomb at 6k rpm. Rebuild, build it like you want. Just my o2

^Agreed my truck is not happy in the 5-6000 range, so rarely will I push it there. While it would be capable of turning 6000 these trucks ideal power range would go from about 25-4000 rpm. After 4500 even with the m1 or modded keggar intake, you're just wasting fuel.

Don't take my word on it but I heard from some turbo research (I was curious lol) that the stock crank can handle damn near 600hp as long as its not abused. I don't know the validity of this tho.

+1 on the turbo research. Been looking into that too.
