Noticed today that I have some drips under my truck. Looked under the truck and rubbed my finger on the transmission. It was a red liquid which is the transmission fluid. Checked my fluid level and it was all fine. The truck doesn't have any shifting problems, or high rpms while accelerating. Should I be that worried?

Also, the previous owner took the truck to a show and put in a new transmission about 3k miles before I bought it back in May, so it is hard to believe that the transmission would already be having problems. Anything I can do to try stopping the leak?

Don't try stopping it. I'd try to clean it as best I could and try to find it.

What do you suggest doing once I clean and find it though?

The repair will be determined by the cause of the leak. Just clean all the fluid off for now and once you find the source a better avenue of repair can be determined. May just be loose pan bolts or a leaking hose, but could be something worse, unfortunately without being there it's hard to say at this point.

That is the transfer case not transmission. Most likely shaft seals. Check T/C fluid level. That doesn't look too bad just watch it.

Damn my friend scared me haha. He kept telling me it was my transmission leaking. Thanks for the reply though, and I'll look at the fluids

**** yeah...that's the tail housing seal on the t-case that's shot. That's why your trans. fluid level was fine. Like RamV10 said, check the fluid level in your t-case.
