I have a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport and am having problems with the windshield wipers. When I use the intermittent settings for the wipers, they will stop at random places, halfway up, down, all the way up. When I use the continuous settings, the wipers work just fine. Do I need to replace the wiper motor or is it something else. Thanks for any help.

Sounds like an issue with the switch more than the motor.

I had the same problem on my 85 f150 new motor fixed it, but its kind of an expensive part so you might try eliminating other problems first.

Maybe you can check if there's faulty wiring along the harness between the motor and the switch.

My wipers do the exact same thing. Motor or gear teeth are stripped/ motor is burnt out from using them when the wipers are stuck in snow or ice, just an example. I gotta replace my motors.

Mine does it too. I've read here, from merc225 i think, its the ctm. Central Timing Module, located under the dash, again, i think.
