Sounds great and very loud Had a bit of a drone to it so I put sound deadening material inside on the walls. Dynomat like stuff. Its going to need rubber feet also. It actually slides along the table when its cranked up lol.

That's a neat use of an ammo can.

How'd you cut such clean circles?

I love those little box. I made a set of hard bags for my old dirt bike with a set of those.

Yep the uses are endless. They are water tight, plenty of room on the passenger side under the hood of our trucks. They make great storage boxes for small parts, tools, whatever. Especially handy for us campers and off roaders.

I have a few of those boxes floating around. Hmmm it'd be cool for my atv or just all around boombox.

How'd you power it? And where'd you get that neat little knob panel thing?

Never mind about the panel. I see that you just unscrewed it and remounted it with the box in between the amp and the panel. Good idea.

I have a 12V power supply from something, not sure what fro honestly. Maybe an old drill charger? The panel is something I custom mounted. I took the amp apart and mounted the amp from behind. I put the panel on from the front and screwed it all back together. Here are some ebay links to help you out.

Amp
MA 170 Kinter Hi Fi Mini 2 Channel Car Amplifier 15W 15W Stereo Auto Amp DC 12V | eBay

Speakers (the ones used. You can use anything you want)
New Pair Planet Audio TQ522 5 25" 2 Way 4 Ohm Car Audio Speakers 160W 636210102601 | eBay

Power supply
New 12V 2A Power Supply for 3528 5050 LED Strip AC 100 240V Converter Adapterc | eBay

I also installed a 3.5mm plug on the side as well as a power supply plug so no wires are hanging out of it on a regular basis. Im also working on a rechargeable battery pack for portability. Here are the links to the audio and power plug

5pcs 1 8" 3 5mm Female Phono Mono Panel Phone Jack Screw | eBay

10 Pcs 5 5mm x 2 1mm DC Female Socket Panel Mounting Power Chargers Nut | eBay

To do this job you have to know how to solder, have some audio knowledge in terms of how to set everything up, you will need a 4.5" hole saw for the speaker cut out also.

That's a cool little project man!

Also, if anyone else is interested in doing something similar, Parts Express has mp3 player boards and board amplifiers you can use. This one has USB, SD and Aux input with a remote control but you'd need an amplifier to go with it.

lol thanks. It's powered with a 12v power supply plugged into the wall for now. I just ordered a 12v rechargeable battery pack that I will install inside the box so I can power it off the wall or off the battery pack. The power supply will also charge the battery pack. I ordered these so I can just plug it in. No wires sticking out of it other than the 3.5mm audio jack on the side.
