Bi Xenon HIDs don't work with foglights on?

I have a set of bi xenon hids in my 2002 ram 2500, non sport. If I have them on with the fog lights OFF, they work perfectly. Flash high and low, and high will stay on when I want it to.

If I have my fog lights ON, my low beams work fine, but if I turn my high beams on, or even flash them, they stay on. They shut off as soon as I push the knob in to turn off my fog lights. If I put a bulb in the passenger side headlight socket (the kit only plugs into the driver side), it works fine. Fog lights on or off.

Also, the fog lights are dimmer than usual when on with the hids.

So, here is what I've done. I tried the bulb in the socket as mentioned, and saw that it worked.

I tried a resistor kit, and it made no difference.

Any ideas?

Sounds like the relays that switch between high beam and fog aren't playing nice with your new HIDs.

I have no clue how to fix it as I don't deal with HID. lol

I thought about wiring the fog lights to use a separate relay, but wasn't sure how the factory relay system worked.

Factory should have one relay.
Just for *****, remove the fog light relay and see what happens with the HIDs.

So, if I pull the fog light relay, the fog lights don't work, but the high and low beams work as they should.

Ill try the jumper that people use so that the fog lights stay on with the highbeams. Do you know how to do that?

I did the jumper and everything works perfect now. I think I'll add a fuse and larger wire to it, but that seems to have fixed the issue.

Sweet!

But why do you need your crappy factory fogs with the HIDs? lol I don't even use mine except for dusk lights due to my LED headlights.

*East Texas, thank you!:bleh:

Because I came across it a whole back and decided it was fitting due to the expression. Also, it's a tow mirror moose.
