Got a 95 Ram 1500 and lately the key won't turn unless I take it out and flip it. Now it takes me 4-5 tries with wiggling the key and pushing it in and out.

I know a new ignition cylinder thing is $60 so I was wondering if anyone had suggestions? I was thinking of making it like my buddies truck where it didn't require a key to start. Just turn it and it turns on. Heh.

Key may be worn out causing the pins to not line up properly.

You could wire it like your buddies if money's an issue but that does leave your truck vulnerable cuz anybody could get in and start it.

Actually I turned my key today and it felt like my truck died for a split second. Then tried again and it started no problem. It's happened twice so far and the battery seems fine...
