Okay so I have a basic understanding of doing the wiring for my sub system using this guide.

How to Wire an Amp to a Sub and Head Unit: 12 steps - wikiHow

My question is, how can I wire a on and off switch to the system? I know at some times, when I have a head ache or just get tired of the bass I will wanna quite them down but I dont know how to wire that up..?

Any help?

or get an amp with a remote gain, turn knob all the way off when you dont want bass.

You should be able to turn your system on or off anytime from your head unit. If not, there should be a switch on your amp

I've got my remote wire only hooked up to a switch. That way I can turn it on/off as desired. In my last vehicle I had a switch in between the HU and AMP to do the same thing.

the Kicker remote is plug and play, biggest time is running the cord from the amp to the gain knob on the dash.
