Well, the 97 I just got didn't have any headunit in it at all but all the stock speakers are still there. Someone hacked off the factory plugs but then spliced them back in later. I'm going to take that apart over the weekend and clean up the PO's crappy fix. Been doing some online digging for wire colors for what they go to. Found what about 80% of the wires goto but there are a few I have no idea. The door panels do say Infinity on them, but don't know about the headunit as it was missing.

Wires I have no idea about are....
I believe this is on the black plug
Green/Red stripe

On the Gray plug
Black/Yellow Stripe
Orange

Then there is a single wire that is Black/2 green stripes opposite each other(this had no connector of any type on it).

Any ideas for help?

Thanks

I googled that one last night and used it for everything but those that I can't seem to figure out. Also, without pulling the door panels again(had to fix side mirror earlier)is there a way to tell if the infinity system is true? Cause when I hooked up my new headunit last night, I had power and everything just no sound through the speakers, new even static.

Do you have tweeters in your A pillar by the doors? I don't remember if back then if they had the 2 tweeters there or not.

Would be ideal if I could get ahold of a scan or something of the radio wiring diagram from a FSM for the 97 :)

Don't the infinity AMPs on the 6x9s need pwr? That might be my issue, without pwr then all 6 speakers wouldn't work I think. Never worked with a system like this before.

You would be correct. the black with 2 green stripes can be attached to the back of the radio. There should be a blue wire for the remote amp turn on

That list above is way off. the amps are actually on the 6x9s not behind the glove box.

Well tried for most of the day, can still only get pwr to the HU and no sound to come out of the speakers. Getting frustrating.

I talked to the guy I bought the truck from and he said the speakers worked great, I pulled his HU out 2 hrs before I bought the truck.

Someone has to know exactly what wire goes to what on a 97 with the infinity amps on the back of the speakers. I get full pwr to the HU, just not getting any sound, not even static.

Blue or Blue with white stripe . Is your amp trigger wire . That one needs hooked up or swapped around from your harness . At least on a 2001

I am going to bring you PM here so we all can figure this out

This is what I have...

Gray Plug:
Pink
Red/white
Orange
Black/yellow
Blue/red
Brown/red

Black Plug:
Blue/orange
Brown/light blue
Violet
Green
Blue/white
Brown/yellow
Green/red

Single Black wire with 2 green stripes.

Everything I have found says that the blue wire with white stripe is the Right Rear (+).

What wires do you have NOT hooked up ?

Switched and constant pwr and ground were easy, the speaker connections are what I found online and everything I found for the amp turn-on said YELLOW wire but I have no yellow wire lol so I'm lost
