like it says above 2001 ram 1500 want to swap a dana 70 into it. I know about the spring perches and drive shaft but it has disc brakes and I have drum brakes. how does that hook up work?

Should be able to connect brake lines and bleed em like you would the fronts

Agreed.
But Pepper, I had a 79 Ramcharger and I put a GM 14 bolt in it with a disc brake conversion and I had no brakes as the calipers take way more fluid to move than the stock master could move. Forcing me to put on a different master, I used one I had off a Chevy dually cube van. After that swap I could lock all four 36x12.5 Super Swampers up on the highway easy. But I couldn't hardly stop with the stock master.

That being said, as I may eventually swap to rear disc 70 also, how does the stock master work with the Dana 60 disc front / Dana 70 disc rear?

I have wanted to make this swap. I did not know of the differences or how easy it would be. (potentially depending on mindset)

It's an easy swap but we have to figure out if the stock master will work. Swapping a master is easy also but it would be nice to know before I drive down the road to test it. Or swap masters for no reason.

Others have done the swap before and there's conversion kits out there for the 9.25 that don't include a new master. These masters are a bit stronger than that 79 ramcharger so i wouldn't worry about it. In fact i bet if you cross referenced part numbers they'd probably be the same as the 2500/3500 trucks and if not those would be almost guaranteed to be a direct swap

Ya, my 79 had no braking issues with rear drum Dana 60 brakes. Just a big issue with calipers.
Mind you, my disc conversion on the 14 bolt used 8 lug 10 bolt front rotors and calipers.
